Mamuju, West Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - Vice President Boediono started a two-day working visit to West Sulawesi on Friday to observe the success of development in the province.

The vice president during the visit is accompanied among others by Home Affairs Minister Gamawan Fauzi, Agriculture Minister Suswono, and Public Works Minister Djoko Kirmanto.

On Friday, Vice President Boediono will began a visit to a cocoa plantation in the province for a dialog with the local cocoa farmers.

After that, the vice president will perform Friday prayer with thousands of worshipers at Mamuju`s Suhada Grand Mosque.

West Sulawesi Governor Adnan Saleh said earlier that the vice president preferred visiting the provinces and districts in the country on Friday and Saturday because the latter wanted to perform Friday prayer at every mosque he passed by.

"The vice president will pray for the people of Mamuju in West Sulawesi and the nation in order to be exempted from political turmoil like in Egypt and Tunisia," the governor said here recently.

After the Friday prayer, the vice president and his entourage will inspect the location of clean water at Bebana Pantai hamlet in Bambu village, Mamuju subdistrict.

Boediono will end the first day of his working visit by holding a dialog with Regional Government Communication Forum on Friday night, then on the second day, Saturday, the vice president is scheduled to the representatives of all high school students across the province in Majene district.

Meanwhile, provincial administration spokesman Azis Jabba said recently that the vice president would visit Mamuju to observe the success of development in the province.

According to Azis, West Sulawesi was the province which was able to achieve the highest economic growth by 15.1 percent to speed up its regional development.

He said that during the visit, the vice president would witness the success of local government in developing its infrastructure such as roads, bridges, seaports, and an airport.
