"We have informed the families of the victims about the crash incident."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Russian Embassy in Jakarta is still monitoring the evacuation efforts of Sukhoi plane crash victims, including eight Russian nationals, in Mount Salak area, West Java province.

"We have sent personnel from the embassy to the crisis center at Halim Perdanakusma airport Jakarta to monitor the search and rescue process of the victims. Tonight special envoy from Russia will arrive in Jakarta to investigate the crash incident," Press Attache Dimitri Solodov at the Russian Embassy in Jakarta said here on Thursday.

He confirmed there are eight Russians out of estimated 45 passengers of the crashed Sukhoi Super Jet 100 plane.

"We have informed the families of the victims about the crash incident. We will continuously monitor the searching process and provide update information to the families," he added.

Sukhoi Super Jet 100 went missing at 02:50 p.m. after conducting a demonstration flight around Mount Salak area, Bogor district, West Java province.

On Thursday, the search and rescue team found the wreckage of the ill-fated plane in Mount Salak`s cliff located at Cigombong village, in the border area between Sukabumi district and Bogor district, West Java. The search and rescue team has reached the crash site and will soon start evacuation process.(T.A051/F001)
