"Our production is still far below the market demand."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Black carbon producer PT Cabot Indonesia plans to increase its production capacity by 140,000 metric tons a year with an investment of US$100 million to meet demand.

"PT Cabot will conduct an expansion by building a plant in Cilegon, Banten," its president director, Gerry Howan, said here on Tuesday.

He said the company`s installed capacity at present is 150,000 metric tons a year while the demand reaches 230,000 metric tons.

With the increased capacity the company would later produce up to 290,000 metric tons a year.

"Our production is still far below the market demand," he said.

Geryy said he hoped by increasing the production capacity the company would be able to meet the demand which keeps increasing every year.

He predicted the demand for the raw material for tire production could reach 300,000 metric tons in the next three years. "It means we will be able to meet part of the demand," he said.
