The two countries share the same views on solution to problem in South China sea
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Japan`s foreign minister Koichiro Gemba and Indonesia`s Marty Natalegawa have agreed to promote cooperation between the two countries both in bilateral and multilateral issues.

The two ministers met bilaterally at the office of the Cambodian Prime Minister on Tuesday.

Koichiro appreciated the role played by Marty on political and maritime issues at "East Asia Summit".

Marty said strong bilateral relations between the two countries could still be expanded and strengthened further in the future.

He said relations between ASEAN of which Indonesia is a member, and Japan is a key to peace, stability and prosperity in Asia.

Indonesia will continue to support Japan although Indonesia is no longer the coordinator of ASEAN in facing Japan, he said.

The two ministers stressed that the two countries share the same views on solution to problem in South China sea, based on international law.

They said the two countries will expand cooperation in dealing with global issues.

Koichiro and Marty promised to hold strategic dialog at the ministerial level to maintain positive momentum for the bilateral relations.
