Hong Kong (ANTARA News/CNA) - Singapore director Anthony Chen, who has won numerous awards for his first feature film "Ilo Ilo", has been nominated for Best Director at the 8th Asian Film Awards, which is set to take place in Macau on March 27.

Other contenders for the award are directors Bong Joon-ho ("Snowpiercer), Hirokazu Koreeda ("Like Father, Like Son"), Tsai Ming Liang ("Stray Dogs") and Wong Kar Wai ("The Grandmaster").

"Ilo Ilo" actress Yeo Yann Yann has also been nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the AFA for her performance in Chens hit film.

This years AFA is the first to be organised by the Asian Film Awards Academy (AFA Academy), instead of the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society, which has organised the awards for the past seven years.
